Civil society · Digital debate · Latin America
We monitor and analyze public conversation on democracy, technology and human rights so that civil society understands the environment in which it operates and acts on evidence.
About us
Linterna Verde is an independent non-profit organization working at the intersection of technology, democracy and civic space. We analyze how digital ecosystems shape democratic processes and put that knowledge to work to reduce the asymmetries that prevent civil society from participating effectively in the debates that affect it. Our work informs strategies, campaigns and advocacy decisions that would otherwise be made in the dark.
What we do
We monitor public conversation on digital platforms and investigate how online ecosystems shape democratic processes and civic space in Latin America. Our analyses — public or for strategic use by partners — translate the complexity of the digital environment into actionable knowledge.
We develop tools, guides and training programs so that journalists, activists and civil society organizations can navigate digital debate, counter disinformation and strengthen their capacity for influence.
We foster an informed regional agenda on technology and democracy, connecting researchers, journalists, activists and decision-makers to build collective responses to digital challenges.
Our conviction
Blog
A community of practice bringing together researchers, journalists and activists to build a regional agenda on the impact of technology on rights and democracy. Connected to the global debate, but grounded in the Latin American context.
